Supermarket Simulator – How to Solve a Storage Room Problem

Storage Room Issue Solutions

Here are a couple of strategies I’ve found effective in managing my store efficiently:

  1. Shelving and Backstock Organization:
    • I utilize two shelves for each product and keep backstock in front of the shelf.
    • One box for most items and multiple boxes for high-volume products like flour, bleach, toilet paper, and potatoes.
    • While it may not look aesthetically pleasing, this method is highly efficient.
  2. Ordering and Catalog Organization:
    • I arrange products and shelves to match the order in the ordering catalog for easy restocking.
    • Grouping freezer items, shelf items, and fridge items together simplifies the ordering process.
  3. Creating an In-Store Storeroom:
    • Instead of relying on a separate storage room, I expanded my store and rearranged shelves to create an in-store storeroom.
    • By forming a “wall” with shelves and leaving a gap for access, I now have a convenient space to store spare boxes inside the shop.
  4. Alternative Storage Options:
    • Consider placing boxes outside along the front of the store and utilizing a corner inside for additional storage.
    • Rotate box placement in the small storage room from left to right on different days to maximize space utilization.

These methods may seem unconventional but have proven effective in maintaining organization and efficiency within my supermarket.
